Made a last minute decision to head up to Winton for Performance Car Mania last weekend. Was a slow start to the day having gotten virtually no sleep the night before, and a nice 6am wake up call. But once we were on the road the excitement kicked in
When we finally arrived, the burnout finals were just coming to an end, I managed to get a few shots, but without a media pass the burnout pad was impossible to shoot.
After the Burnout finals, there was a Cruise scheduled, which meant a heap of cars on track at once, it looked a bit chaotic at first, but after a lap or two they spread out and the drivers began using that space for fun.
This clean LH Torana was probably in my top 5 favourite, non-drift cars there on the day.
as was EVIL - 72. The cruise session gave me a good chance to practice my panning technique and get my settings right for the upcoming drift segment of the day.
This VL Wagon always impresses me, I saw it at the last Vic Drift day I attended, since then he has added the Surf Board to the roof, very nice touch to a very different drift car.
Continuing on the Holden Drift theme was this VU SS Ute
This very nice example of an S13 was another favourite of mine on the day.
more S13 love
I think this photo sums up the event nicely, all the on track events involved destroying rubber. What else could you ask for?
